Container Control Operator 12 month Fixed term contract

Location: London Estuary SS17 9PD

Salary: Competitive Salary

12 Month Fixed term contract

Pentalver is an award winning container logistics company with over 30 years’ experience. We are currently recruiting for Container Controller to join our team in the London Estuary. As a Container controller you will be responsible for controlling containers accurately coming in and out of the depot.

This is a full-time, 12 month fixed term contract working 50 hours per week

Shift Rotation (0600-1600, 0800-1800, 0900-1900) and every third Saturday 0800-1200

Key responsibilities of the Container Control Operator:

  • Booking containers in and out of the container yard, remaining polite and courteous to all customers, colleagues and drivers.
  • Liaising with CHE drivers advising of arriving hauliers/shunters and their container requirements.
  • Ensure all release/acceptance information is entered into the system in a timely and accurate manner
  • HSSE coordination support and on site contact for HSSE.
  • Ensuring all container numbers are correctly recorded both in and out of the system
  • Actively seek additional work wherever possible from current customers
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the customer base, understand requirements and communicate accurate information on time as required
  • Working with a team effectively communicating requirements
  • Maintain high standards of good housekeeping
  • Maintain health and safety standards

  • Proactive, innovative and creative approach to problem solving
  • A working knowledge of PC applications; Microsoft and outlook
