Container Control Administrator
Location: Southampton
Salary: Competitive
Pentalver Transport is an award winning container logistics company with over 30 years’ experience. We are currently recruiting for Container Control Administrator to join our team in Southampton. As a Container Control Administrator you will be responsible for controlling all container bookings in and out of the depot, ensuring all containers are accounted for correctly.
This is a full-time, permanent position working 40 hours per week. You will work between the hours of 6am – 6pm (8 hours each day, excluding 1 hour lunch break) and your shift will vary depending on the business needs. You will also be required to work Saturdays on a rota basis (between 6am – 12pm) – usually every 5-6 weeks.
Key responsibilities of the Container Control Administrator:
- Booking containers in and out of the container yard, remaining polite and courteous to all customers, colleagues and drivers
- Ensure all release/acceptance information is entered into the system in a timely and accurate manner
- Ensuring all container numbers are correctly recorded both in and out of the system
- Actively seek additional work wherever possible from current customers
- Ability to communicate effectively with the customer base, understand requirements and communicate accurate information on time as required
- Working with a team effectively communicating requirements.
The ideal Container Control Administrator will:
- Ideally have container industry experience
- Have experience of working in fast-paced environment
- Have proven administration experience
- Have ability to prioritise and work well under pressure
- Have excellent communication and presentation skills
- Be a strong team player
- Have exceptional attention to detail
- Have strong numerical and analytical skills
- Be proactive, innovative and creative approach to problem solving
- Have a good, working knowledge of PC applications; Microsoft, Excel and Outlook
